About Us
The Philippine Academy of Medical Specialists is a non-stock, non-profit, medical organization duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission since December 8, 1994. It was initially organized for all the holders of Medical Specialist Diploma given by the Ministry of Health since 1979.
Due to the clamor of doctors who have trained in their respective specialties and want to be a member of PAMS,
its membership was opened to medical specialists who have undergone formal training.
Presently, PAMS is composed of 43 chapters nationwide, 28 specialty disciplines, 5 affiliate medical specialty organizations, and 2 affiliate basic science organizations.
Goals and Objectives
- To unify, develop and assign Medical Specialists throughout the Philippines.
- To provide a forum for Medical Specialties of the Department of Health in its quest for continuing medical education.
- To maintain the highest possible level of medical and scientific skills so we can better serve the people especially the less fortunate.
- To maintain camaraderie so that the ethical practice of medicine shall always be observed.
- To promote the ideals of objectives of the Philippine Medical Association.
- To betterer help the Department of Health in its programs and objectives.
Mission
We strive to improve our specialty skills and enhance our medical and scientific knowledge through continuing medical education.
We advocate and engage in providing quality health care accessible to our fellowmen in accordance to the standard of ethical practice.
We uphold camaraderie among members and fellow medical professionals as we establish and sustain linkages and partnership with other medical specialties.

We envision a multispecialty organization of competent, services and quality-oriented and ethical medical specialists, united in its endeavors.
